Saving the Grey Ghost

Today, Emel and I were out in Citrus Heights helping homeless fur babies. All over Citrus Heights today there were fur babies everywhere in need of some amazing hugs and love from Emel and good food, water and blankets. We helped about eight fur babies and on our way home from an amazing day, we stopped at the Library on Greenback to see if we could help a few more. What caught our eyes was this beautiful Weimaraner puppy tied to a tree with her homeless keeper. The Grey Ghost as they are known. Weimaraner’s are super intelligent and energetic dogs. The keeper was super kind and asked if Emel and I would take this Fur Baby because he did not feel equipped to take care of her and wanted her to have a good home and made us promise to take great care of her. Thank you Lewis for your commitment to this fur baby and surrendering her to our care.

Emel and I named this beautiful girl Çelik which is Turkish for Steel, because her coat is silvery steel. She is super sweet and really wonderful. We set out to our friend who is a veterinarian in El Dorado County to check for a microchip so we could return Çelik to her owner. It turned out that she was not chipped. We were on our way home to feed her and have her rest. I couldn’t have been more than 30 mins and we were called by our Veterinarian Friend Briar and she said that she would take Çelik home and make her part of her family. We are so excited that this story has a wonderful beginning as Çelik begins her new life with Briar and her Family.

Thank you Briar for adding Çelik to your home and also for your wonderful donation to Emel’s Heart, and Thank you everyone for your continued support.
